On the right side of the Control Center sub-module, you can perform different actions on the SIMs. To perform any action, you must first select the SIM Card or SIM Cards to which you want to perform the action, and then select the desired action. The 5 available actions are SMS, Activate, Suspend, Limits, Reset, and Purge.

In case more than 3 SIMs are selected to perform an action, a pop-up will indicate that the action will already be reflected in the front end, while it may take some time for all of them to be performed in the backend. Once all actions have been performed in the backend, the user will receive an email notification indicating that the action was successfully performed.

SMS

Orion has a built-in SMS console to send SMS directly to devices from the platform. To send an SMS, simply select the SIM, or SIMs where you want to send the SMS and then select the SMS button.

The console will indicate the number of SIM Cards selected, and all the ICCIDs where the message will be sent. In case you want the SMS to be answered, you can write in the field Reply to: your phone number with the area code, but without the + symbol. In the Message field type the SMS you want to send. If the SIM card is enabled, it will receive the SMS and reply to the selected phone number. If you do not want the SMS to be answered, you can type any number with at least 7 digits, such as 1234567.

Activate

To activate a previously suspended SIM, simply select the SIM card(s) you want to activate and press the Activate button. A pop up will ask if you wish to activate Data, SMS, or both services. Select the service(s) you wish to activate and press Yes.

Suspend

To suspend the services of a SIM card, simply select the card or cards you wish to suspend and press the Suspend button. A pop-up will ask if you want to suspend Data, SMS, or both services. Select the service(s) you wish to activate and press Yes.

If you select both services and suspend them, the SIM card will change from Ready or Active to Suspended. This means that the SIM card will stop working until it is activated again, and at the same time in the next billing cycle it will stop charging, as well as it will stop adding the MBs of the plan to the data pool.

Limits

Orion allows you to set consumption limits for the Data and SMS services of the SIMs. To set limits, simply select the card or cards you wish to suspend and press the Limits button. The platform will then display a pop up indicating the ICCIDs of the selected SIMs, and then you can fill in the Data and SMS fields. You can fill these fields with any integer and press Apply.

The SIM card will be able to consume data normally until 80% of the applied limit is reached, where the consumption speed will be lowered to try to optimize the use of the last 20% of the remaining data. At 100% of consumption, the transmission speed will be lowered considerably so that the device can stay connected, but the consumption will be kept to a minimum.

The SMS limit disables the sending of SMS from the SIM after reaching the limit.

Restart

In case a SIM card stops reporting for any reason, the first thing you can do is to restart it from the platform. To do so, first select the card(s) you wish to reset and press the Reset button. A prompt will ask you if you wish to proceed, press Yes.
